Softaculous also offers a staging feature that allows you to create a copy of your live WordPress website and test changes on it without affecting your live site.
Steps to create a staging website.
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Look for the WordPress Manager by Softaculous and click on the WordPress icon.
- On the WordPress Management page, you should be able to see a list of all your WordPress websites.
- Click on the Down arrow next to the website you want to create a staging site for.
- Scroll down and look for the Staging section. Click on the “Staging” button.
- In the staging site setup page, enter the details for your staging site, including the site URL, database name.
- Once you have entered all the details, click on the “Create Staging” button to create your staging site.
- You can then use the staging site to test out new features, plugins, or themes without affecting your live site.
- When you are satisfied with the changes you have made on the staging site, you can push them to the live site.
Note : Remember to always back up your website before making any changes to it, and to test your changes thoroughly on the staging site before pushing them to the live site.
