How to Generate a MySQL Database in cPanel
MySQL database backup will generate a backup all of the data in a give database, this is a partial backup and DNS, home directory files, and other system files and settings will not be included.
1. Login in to cPanel with valid credentials.
2. Under the Files section, click on Backup, or search for Backup in the search box.
3.Under the Partial Backup section there is a subsection Download a MySQL Database Backup and then click the name of the specific database you want to backup and the
download will begin.
Note : The backup file has the extension .tar.gz and can be opened with a linux command. It can also be unzipped on a Windows system with proper zip software.
How to Restore MySQL Database in cPanel
1. Login in to cPanel with valid credentials.
2. Under the Files section, click on Backup, or search for Backup in the search box.
3. Under Partial backups there is subsection Restore a Mysql Database Backup. Click on Browse button.
4. Select the backup file and click on Upload.
5. A pop-up will appear, indicating the database name and the status of the database restoration. This is only for confirmation and should be closed.
