An external host will be able to access the database only if we configure the settings accordingly.
To enable remote MySQL access below are the steps:
- Login to your DirectAdmin account.
- In the Account Manager section, select MySQL Management.
- A database list will appear. Then select a database from the list to configure its remote access settings.
- A ‘View Database’ page will appear. Under the Access Hosts section, enter the IP address of the remote host.
- Finally, click the Add New button.
As an Access Host, the new host is added to the list. The users on the host can now login to the MySQL database remotely. We can also disable remote MySQL Access on a host when needed.
