To transfer your domain name to WebHostUK, it must first meet the following requirements:
- The domain name needs to be “Active” The majority of domain name registrars set the domain names’ statuses to “Locked” by default, thus you must first unlock the domain name via the current registrar’s control panel.
- The domain name cannot expire with less than 15 days remaining.
- It must have been initially registered more than 60 days ago for the domain name.
- The domain name requires the EPP code. You can get this from the current domain name registrar, and it is used to authorize the transfer transaction.
The requirements are applicable to the gTLDs (.com, .org, .net, .biz, .info). Most of the ccTLDs (country code top-level domains) have their own set of requirements. If you are looking to transfer a .co.uk domain name then you have to change IPS Tag
You can book the Domain Transfer service from your Client Area > Services > Domains > Transfer if your domain name satisfies all the mentioned requirements. Select Check Status. Your domain name will be checked automatically by our system to verify if it satisfies all the mentioned requirements; if not, a warning will appear.
You must enter the EPP code and confirm that you have access to your account administrative email address if your domain name passes all the tests. Additionally, you will be invited to check and, if necessary, amend the domain name owner information. This information will be put to your domain name automatically once the domain name transfer is finished.
If the EPP key you supplied was accurate, the transfer will start right away, and you’ll be informed when it’s finished.
You will receive an email at the administrator email address associated with the account, which should be used to confirm the domain transfer, if the EPP was incorrect. You must adhere to the guidelines. Your existing registrar can send you a follow-up email asking you to confirm the transfer once again.
It could take up to 14 days for the domain name transfer service to be completely finished, depending on the TLD of the domain name and its present registrar. You will get a welcome email from WebHostUK as soon as the process is finished, alerting you that the domain has been successfully transferred to us.
