Manual installation of X-Cart in cPanel

To install X-Cart, follow these steps:

  1. Download the X-Cart application zip file at https://www.x-cart.com/internal/download to your computer.
  1. Click on Download X cart button. It will prompt a new window. 
  1. It will download a zip file on your local computer. Upload that zip file in your cPanel by using file manager.
  1. Extract the .zip file on your computer. You should now have a folder named xcart.
  1. Create a MySQL database and database user for X-Cart using cPanel. During the web configuration procedure, you will require this information.
  1. Go to the installation URL using your web browser. Browse URL ::

  1. Installation wizard will be open.
  1. Select ‘ I accept the License Agreement’ check box, and then click Next.
  1. The page for checking PHP configuration is displayed. It needs to say Passed.
  1. Choose Next. The page for ‘getting ready to install X-Cart’ appears.
  1. Verify that the values in the text boxes for the Server host name and Secure server host name are accurate.
  1. Verify that the location where you wish to install X-Cart is listed in the X-Cart web directory text box.
  1. Verify that the localhost:/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock value is entered in the MySQL host name text box.
  1. Enter the name of the database you created in step 5 in the text box labeled “MySQL database name.” The database name has the following format: username dbname, where username stands for the username associated with your account and dbname for the name of the database you established.
  1. Enter the database username you generated in step 5 into the MySQL user name text box. Username dbusername is the format used for the database user name.
  1. The whole installation page, which includes administration login information and other setup information, appears:
  1. Click the Customer area to visit your site’s X-Cart home page.
  1. Click the Administrator area, then enter your login credentials to visit the X-Cart administrator page.
  1. To secure our installation, change the file permission as mentioned above.
  1. Admin area and website working successfully.
