To update cPanel in WHM (Web Host Manager), you can follow these steps:
- Log in to WHM using your credentials. Typically, you can access WHM by navigating to https://your-domain.com/whm in your web browser.
- Once logged in, Search for the server configuration section. Or you may use a search box.
- Select Update preference
- Set the Release Tier to the version that will be used to update cPanel and WHM. You will not be able to downgrade or install an older version.
- Click on Save Button
- A green alert will appear with the following message – The system saved your settings locally and will apply your changes during the next update. To update now, click here.
- If you opt to run the update now, click on ‘here’ in the popup message or go to Upgrade to Latest Version under cPanel in the left menu.
- With the upgrade installed, a new button will appear in the upper right corner stating s You must reboot the server to apply software updates.
- Either select the button You must reboot the server to apply software updates or go to Graceful Server Reboot under System Reboot in the left menu to perform a reboot.
- Click Proceed.
That’s it! You have now updated cPanel in WHM to the latest version. It is always recommended to keep cPanel up to date to benefit from the latest features and security patches.
