Full-cPanel backup creates a backup of all website files, databases, emails. Following are the steps for generating, downloading, and restoring backups.
Generate a full backup in cPanel:
1. Login in to cPanel with valid credentials.
2. Under the Files section, click on Backup, or search for Backup in the search box.
3. Under the Full Backup section Click on Download a Full Account Backup
4. On the next screen, select “Home Directory” as the backup destination from the drop-down box under “Generate a Full Backup“
Provide your email address the box if you wish to receive an email notification once the backup is complete. Else, click on ‘Do not send email notification of backup completion.’
Click on ‘Generate Backup’ to start generating backup.
5. Once the backup process starts click on “Go Back.”
Once the backup is ready to download, a backup file will be visible under Backups available for download. Click on the file and select a destination on your local machine to save the backup file.
Note : Backup files are found under home directory which have tar.gz extension. You can download the backup via FTP, cPanel or SSH
