This post will help you to protect your directory with password. This is a additional protection layer for the directory which you don’t want to give public access
How to protect directory with password
- Login to cPanel account
- Find Directory Privacy option Under file section. Click on that option
- This page will show List of current folders. Select the folder in which you want to set the password. Click on Edit Button
- Under the Directory privacy section check Password protect Directory and click on save Button. And then click go back
- On the same page there is a Create User section. Set Username and Password for the directory and click save button
- After creating the User click go back. You will see Authorized users on the same page. If you want to delete that user then select user and delete it.
